Harris Beach

£110.00
I visited this Hebridean beach (Bostadh) in September. It is a beautiful place. The machair clings to the sand dunes, the ridges carved by the weather. Peat-coloured streams flow down to the sea.

Towards Ashmore

£195.00
On a painting trip to Dorset last year I came upon this view which offered me an exciting composition. The tractor marks, trees and hedges all drew my eye back to the vista beyond.

Hebridean Landscape

On the road to Hushinish, Harris, in the Outer Hebrides last year. I was very taken by the plays of light across the hills and onto the mountains. This really is a breathtaking part of the world.

Sacred Heart

£250.00
The interior of a beautiful church in Exeter was the inspiration for this painting.
Part of a recent series of Church interiors, which includes the Brompton Oratory, London, the beautiful play of light on the architectural features inspired me.

Ashdown Forest

£140.00
The gentle slopes of the Sussex landscape draw me to it, particularly here on the edge of the Ashdown Forest. Each time I return to sketch or paint it it offers up a new rhythm or play of light.

The Pier

While staying on Harris, the Outer Hebrides, late last summer, this was the view across the Sea Loch at Gravir, with its small fishing pier. The light of the early evening was beginning to warm and soften.

An orange with two apples against a blue and white cloth. I like the sense of movement in this pastel painting.

Oak in Spring

£195.00
This painting was made in our garden, looking out towards the bridlepath which is flanked by large oak trees.  I was inspired by the dappled light and the fresh green of the emerging leaves.

The Box Garden

£195.00
This was made during the summer of 2017 on a visit to a beautiful Sussex Garden. I enjoyed the straight lines of the formal parts of the garden contrasting with wilder elements such as the roses and honeysuckle.

Gunnera

On trips to Cornwall I often come across this wonderful plant with its umbrella leaves. This pastel captures the view of a small pool with Gunnera near the Helford river.
